Gorsa Logistics is looking for a motivated and experienced Customer Service Coordinator to join our dynamic team in New York. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient transportation of goods for our clients, from planning the best shipment routes to managing logistics and customs documentation. If you have a strong background in freight forwarding and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Investigate and plan the most appropriate shipment routes, considering factors such as the value, hazardous nature, cost, transit time, and security of goods.
  • Arrange appropriate packing solutions, considering climate, terrain, weight, nature of goods, and cost, as well as overseeing the delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination.
  • Negotiate contracts, transportation, and handling costs to optimize client satisfaction and cost-effectiveness.
  • Obtain, check, and prepare documentation to meet customs and insurance requirements, packing specifications, and ensure compliance with international regulations and fiscal regimes.
  • Liaise with third parties to move goods via road, rail, air, or sea according to customer requirements.
  • Arrange insurance coverage and assist clients in the event of a claim.
  • Manage the payment of freight and other charges or facilitate the collection of payment on behalf of clients.
  • Utilize e-commerce, internet technology, and satellite systems to enable real-time tracking of goods.
  • Maintain communication and control throughout all phases of the shipment journey, including the production of management reports, statistical data, and unit cost analysis.
  • Act as a consultant in customs matters, providing expert guidance to clients.

Qualifications Must Include:

  • Diploma of International Freight Forwarding or related degree qualification, or:
  • A minimum of 2 years of significant experience within the freight forwarding or transportation industry.
